Cirie Fields might have respect for the excellent game Rob Rausch played on The Traitors season 4, but she’s made one thing clear: he does not know the world of Survivor.

Following his victory on The Traitors season 4, Rob has been making the rounds as part of a lengthy press tour which recently took him to NBC’s morning show TODAY. During the conversation, Rob was asked about the possibility of playing Survivor, and he admitted that if Survivor host Jeff Probst ever called he would consider doing the show.

"I think if Jeff ever called, maybe I would do it. That’s one of the only reality shows that I’ve ever watched of my own volition and it is good, and it’s fun. I did want to play back in the day, but I feel like The Traitors may hurt me now. People know that I’m a threat."

While Rob simply flirted with the idea of appearing on CBS’s long-running series, the quotes quickly made the rounds and got back to several members of the Survivor community. Among those who have weighed in on Rob’s comments about playing the game of Survivor is fellow Traitors winner, Cirie Fields, who made it clear that she could easily take him down in the game of Survivor.

“I would eat Rob alive in Survivor because Rob thinks he got it now; he won The Traitors so he thinks he knows this world. You don’t know, Rob,” Cirie told Virtual Reali-Tea when asked about Rob’s comments about playing Survivor.

Now, while Cirie notes that she would easily defeat Rob in the game of Survivor – a statement that is absolutely accurate, as Cirie is one of the best to ever play Survivor and is a legend of the game – that doesn’t mean she can’t recognize that his merits on The Traitors deserve praise.

“I think Rob did an excellent, excellent job. I think Rob took risks that I wouldn’t have taken, but it panned out for him,” she commented on his game.

Interestingly, it wasn’t just Cirie who weighed in on Rob’s comments, with Jeff Probst taking a more pointed stance on Rob’s casual interest.

“You know, Rob Rausch has got a good committee, a good PR team out here. All I know is—he’s kind of like a, ‘maybe I’d do Survivor.’ I just want to say to Rob: it’s gonna take a little more than just casual interest to do our show.”

Clearly Probst took some offense to Rob casually suggesting he’d possibly be interested in the show, but honestly this isn’t surprising. Probst has made it clear on many occasions that he’s not the biggest fan of The Traitors, which is a shame, as Survivor could honestly benefit from taking advantage of the show’s increasing popularity by trying to bring in some of the standout players, such as Rob, to play the game of Survivor.

Casting breakout stars such as Rob would give Traitors fans who aren’t watching Survivor a reason to tune in, and that could be all it takes to hook them on the show. This could help introduce the long-running series to new fans, which is what every long-running show should be striving to do late in its run!
