The One Chicago Universe has always been about family, but the franchise is about to take the meaning of this literally in the fall!

While Shawn Hatosy’s time on Chicago PD has come to an end, his son is about to carry on the torch with a guest spot in the upcoming eleventh season of Chicago Med. As first reported by TV Insider, Hatosy’s son Cassius is going to guest star in the season 11 premiere on Oct. 1.

In the episode, Cassius will play a patient named Hudson Collins, a 19-year-old who ends up at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center with a severely injured leg after a building collapse at an all-night rave. Once admitted to Med, he’ll be treated by Dr. Daniel Charles, hinting that there might be more to Hudson’s injuries than a banged-up leg. Could Dr. Charles simply be dropping in to check on Hudson while he’s in the ED, or will he have been brought in for a consult due to concerns with his mental state following the building collapse? We’re going to have to wait to see, but it seems likely Hudson will be one of the premiere’s central cases!

While this will mark the first time a relative of a member of the Chicago PD cast will guest star within the franchise, this isn’t the first time a member of the One Chicago cast’s family will be appearing in the One Chicago Universe!

Both daughters of Chicago Fire actor Christian Stolte have guest-starred in episodes of Chicago Fire. His youngest daughter, Greta, played a civilian rescued in one of the calls the team responded to in the pilot episode of Chicago Fire, while his older daughter, Corinne, guest-starred as Mouch’s biological daughter on the show and even returned later for a guest spot in Chicago Med

It’s truly a family affair, and once you’re part of the Wolf Entertainment family, you tend to keep coming back! After all, several members of the One Chicago shows have appeared in other Wolf Entertainment projects, most notably being Chicago Med’s lead S. Epatha Merkerson, who played Lieutenant Anita Van Buren for 17 seasons on Law & Order before returning to the Wolf Entertainment family in 2015 to begin playing Sharon Goodwin on Med.

Don’t miss the premieres of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD on Wednesday, Oct. 1, beginning with the season 11 premiere of Chicago Med at 8/7c on NBC!
