Chicago Med season 11 has been off to an amazing start. The show has been firing on all cylinders with incredible storylines and some amazing surprise returns.
For the 200th episode, Chicago Med brought back Nick Gehlfuss as Dr. Will Halstead and he didn’t come back alone. The closing moments of the episode welcomed back Torrey DeVitto as Dr. Natalie Manning in a surprise guest appearance that turned into an even larger appearance in episode 3. While the circumstances weren’t the best with Natalie coming to town after her son, Owen, was shot, it was such a treat to see the two former stars back.
The trauma of Owen being shot aside, the episodes not only allowed us to see two beloved original characters return, but also gave us meaningful updates about their lives. We learned they had gotten married, were expecting a child, and Will asking Owen to allow him to legally adopt him. It was an amazing guest arc for the characters which, sadly, has come to an end.

Torrey DeVitto confirms her Chicago Med season 11 return is over
As amazing as it was to see Torrey DeVitto back on Chicago Med after all these years, her time on the show has come to an end once again. After appearing in the second and third episode of season 11, DeVitto has confirmed her guest arc is complete and she’s stepping away from the show once again.
Speaking with TV Insider, DeVitto confirmed episode 3 was her final guest appearance, praising the writers for the way they crafted her story and exit this time around.
“I feel good about it. I think people are going to feel good about it. I personally felt like there was a lot of open holes when I left the first time. I don’t think it was all wrapped up, but I feel like there’s better closure to it now.”
While episode 3 marked DeVitto’s final appearance in her return arc, she’s leaving the door open for a potential return down the line.
“I have so much fun on that set and I do live in Michigan full-time now, and so it’s like I would always be open to going back. It’s like a home away from home and having as much fun as I just did, being back now, I would always be open to coming back.”
With confirmation that DeVitto’s guest arc has come to an end, it’s expected that the same rings true for Nick Gehlfuss. This would make sense given that we know Gehlfuss has since moved on and is currently filming on his next project, CBS’s CIA series. It also makes sense that the pair would leave town together.
