These days, nostalgia's the name of the game as past favorites continue to return in the form of reboots and revivals. However, the stars of Everybody Loves Raymond, one of CBS' biggest sitcoms of all time, have continuously shot down the chances of a reboot or revival. But they never said they wouldn't come together in some capacity to honor a show that, as its title says, everybody loved.
CBS officially announced that the cast and crew will honor the legacy of their beloved sitcom with the upcoming Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion. The 90-minute special event will air on Monday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and stream on Paramount+. For a lot of fans, this will be even better than a reboot or revival because we'll get to see all of our favorite stars.
According to CBS, the special will be hosted by Ray Romano and Phil Rosenthal, the sitcom's creator, as they take a walk down memory lane and remember all of the laughs they brought to millions of fans with Everybody Loves Raymond for nine seasons. In addition to the series' star and creator, fans can also expect to catch up with most of the main cast and see exciting new footage!

Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion special coming to CBS with outtakes, interviews, and more
The special will take place in a recreation of the Barone living room set and welcome cast members such as Brad Garrett (Robert), Patricia Heaton (Debra), Monica Horan (Amy), Madylin Sweeten (Ally), and Sullivan Sweeten (Michael). Late cast members Peter Boyle (Frank) and Doris Roberts (Marie) will be honored with a tribute, and surely Sawyer Sweeten (Geoffrey) will be, too.
Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion will feature the cast chatting about their time on the show and its impact in "candid conversations" and also promises never-before-seen outtakes from the series and commentary from the cast. This is one of the first times since the series finale that the cast has gotten together to share memories and revel in the past.
CBS brings the cast together nearly 30 years after the sitcom first premiered in September 1996 and almost 20 years since the series finale in May 2005. Even though Everybody Loves Raymond doesn't have as much of a lasting cultural impact as the likes of Friends and The Office, it's unquestionably one of the biggest sitcoms of all time, with 15 Emmy Award wins to its name.
Even though Everybody Loves Raymond could definitely make a comeback with a reboot or revival for a quick victory lap, it's very smart that Romano and co. haven't jumped at the opportunity. Some sitcoms have a spark that are very of its time and can't be replicated, whether its the cast's chemistry or a different time altogether. A reunion special is the next best way to remind the world of its impact.
