This canceled CBS show was the most-watched canceled show of the 2024-25 season

The list of the most-watched shows of 2024-25 has arrived and it includes a whopping eight canceled shows, including five of CBS's most controversial canceled shows.
“Forgive Us Our Trespasses” – Danny and Baez team up with Danny’s old partner, Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito), to find a copycat killer emulating murders from a previous case. Also, Frank and Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh) battle over how best to handle the city’s rising homeless population; and Jamie, Eddie and Erin team up to build evidence against a previously released man who they believe is again committing criminal assault, on the 13th season finale of BLUE BLOODS, Friday, May 19

The list of the most-watched TV shows of the last season has arrived, and it’s likely no surprise to CBS viewers to learn that the list includes a handful of canceled CBS shows. This includes one hit show that managed to rank among the Top 40 most-watched shows of the entire season!

Blue Bloods was the most-watched canceled broadcast show of the season, averaging 10.1 million viewers. Blue Bloods ranked as the 38th most-watched show of the 2024-25 season and was the 15th most-watched broadcast show on the entire list, pulling in more viewers than 23 renewed broadcast shows.

Honestly, it’s not surprising at all that Blue Bloods ranked as the most-watched canceled show of the season, but it does make the show’s cancellation sting that much more. In season 14, Blue Bloods was still drawing in more viewers than most broadcast shows, and fans remained just as invested in the show as ever before. Not only did the fans want another season, but the cast fought hard to keep the show going.

The show deserved to be renewed, and there is no denying that if the show was pulling in those viewership numbers on any other network, Blue Bloods surely would have been renewed for another season. Sadly, it wasn’t the only CBS show pulling in strong viewership that was canceled as four other canceled CBS shows also made the list of the most-watched shows of the 2024-25 season.

FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, The Equalizer, and SWAT also made the list, rounding out the Top 5 most-watched canceled shows. Fellow canceled shows 911: Lone Star, The Irrational, and Found also cracked the Top 100, as did Doctor Odyssey, whose fate remains up in the air over on ABC

These eight shows are among the 49 broadcast shows that made the list of the Top 100 shows of the season, proving that broadcast most certainly still has a strong hold on viewers and is home to some of the most-watched shows on air! Interestingly, it was a big year for new shows, with three of the most-watched broadcast shows of the year being new series in High Potential, Matlock, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

From a network standpoint, CBS took the top spot with 21 shows on the list, followed by NBC with 14, ABC with 11, and Fox with 3 shows on the most-watched list.
