While Brilliant Minds is on a break from our screens, there is still a lot going on behind the scenes. One of those is landing guest stars for upcoming episodes, and there’s some exciting news.

Sarah Steele, known for her role as Marissa Gold on The Good Wife will guest star in a recurring capacity on the medical drama. Little is known about her character’s longer-term part in the show, but we do know when she will turn up and who she will play.

Sarah Steele will be on Brilliant Minds in 2026

Steele will make her first appearance on the Brilliant Minds season 2 winter premiere, which is episode 11 of the current season. That’s set to air on Monday, Jan. 5 at 10/9c on NBC.

She’ll play a character called Sofia, who is a new patient at the hospital for Wolf to investigate. Her medical mystery is one that Wolf struggles to crack, but I would like to know if that’s because she has something rare going on or if it’s because Wolf is being pulled in multiple other directions.

How does a patient at the hospital end up in a recurring role? Well, likely in the way that Sam has over the first half of the season. There is something about her that leads to Sofia and Wolf becoming fast friends, and it turns out that they have a “run-in in the unlikeliest of places,” according to Deadline.

Is Sofia connected to Noah Wolf?

The Brilliant Minds season 2 fall finale left us with a lot of questions for various characters. Wolf learned that Charlie is, in fact, the son of the patient who haunts him every Halloween. Charlie became a doctor as a way to get revenge against Wolf, but also as a way to make sure families didn’t go through what he went through.

However, at the end of the episode, Charlie gave Wolf an address that should lead to Noah. Is it possible that this is the unlikely place for Wolf and Sofia to meet? After all, we didn’t get to see if Noah was at the address, as there were signs nobody had been around for some time, and Wolf broke in to get access.

It’s also possible that Sofia is linked to Van and Michelle’s storyline. Michelle was left unconscious after a car accident, which Van currently has no idea about. With the title of the episode being “The Boy Who Feels Everything,” it’s clear that we’ll see how Van deals with the accident and all the feelings that brings due to his mirror-touch synesthesia. Could Sofia have been the other driver?

Brilliant Minds will return on Monday, Jan. 5 at 10/9c on NBC.
