Big Brother season 27 premieres on CBS very soon! Just a few days after teasing the season 27 premiere date, CBS officially announced the release date and full schedule for Big Brother season 27. And, there are a few things we didn't expect!
First of all, Big Brother season 27 premieres on Thursday, July 10, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+, according to the CBS press release sharing the news. Julie Chen Moonves is back as the host for Big Brother's 27th season.
We're also getting an extended 90-minute episode for the series premiere. No, the season doesn't premiere on a Wednesday as we were expecting, but the season gets back on schedule shortly after that Thursday premiere.
Looking at the Big Brother season 27 release schedule, the second episode of the season is also supersized. It will air on Sunday, July 13, in the same timeslot on CBS and Paramount+. During the show's second week, it gets back to the Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday release schedule that we're all used to.
CBS also revealed that the Wednesday episodes of Big Brother will be 90 minutes long all summer long! The format has worked out great for Big Brother in the past. We've seen CBS implement the longer episodes on other reality shows, like Survivor, and it's worked really well for those shows, too!
To put a cherry on top of all this fun Big Brother news sundae, CBS also confirmed that there will be Friday episodes of Big Brother, called Big Brother: Unlocked, airing every other Friday beginning on July 25. So, some weeks, we're going to be getting four episodes of Big Brother season 27! Is this heaven?
I'm not going to lie. This is a confusing release schedule! I like it when I can just show up one night a week at the same time and watch the new episodes, but Big Brother has always been a little bit different.

There's one thing I do know, though. This is going to be one of the best summers for Big Brother in a very long time! Now, we just have to hope the cast right because we're going to be spending a lot of time with these players over the next few months.
