We’re back to the beaches of Costa Rica this week for another episode of Bachelor in Paradise!
Episode 8 brought us so much. There was an entertaining game, some general backstabbing, and some couples were sent home!
Let’s get to the best and worst moment of Bachelor in Paradise episode 8!

Worst Moment: Allyshia and Sean leave
At the Rose Ceremony, everyone votes on who they want to eliminate from the beach (or not give a rose to). I do like this added element to the season. It makes it more Survivor-like, and it's nice to have the stakes be determined by something other than simply being in a relationship.
When it’s Allyshia’s turn at the Rose Ceremony, she stops the proceedings and addresses Jesse, telling everyone she and Sean have decided to leave on their own, since they found each other.
This might just be me, but I have always found it annoying when someone decides to stop a Rose Ceremony halfway through to do a big speech. It just comes across as so attention-seeking and try-hard.
I realize production has a heavy hand in this, but still have to call it out!
Both of them ostensibly wanted to stay on the beach, but acted like they didn’t, so they could save face. I’d rather they just accept that they’re getting eliminated and accept defeat!
I will say, Allyshia did have an amazing quote as they were leaving: “My friends are snakes, and it’s time to mow the lawn.” Wow.

Best moment: Relationship Test: Treasure Hunk
This really was an entertaining episode. This season has featured more and more games, which gives the couples something to actually do, rather than just eating, drinking, and talking about their feelings.
The couples are put through a test where one is the hunter, the other is the treasure. The partners have to communicate with walkie-talkies, and general hilarity ensues.
Bachelor in Paradise really thrives when it steps outside of solely focusing on couples “falling in love.” When the show integrates Survivor-esque games, suddenly there’s something else to focus on, and everyone benefits!
It’s also interesting to see the couples have to work together, and actually have some fun! Sometimes the show is too focused on watching couples talk about their relationship, where they are on the “falling in love” scale, which is just a bit boring at times. Best moments of the episode often come from these challenges, as was the case this week!
