Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise is really going for broke! Episode 6 introduced some fun plot twists to further throw us off balance this season.
Episode 6 starts out with six women and only three men, which makes for a pretty interesting dynamic going into the Rose Ceremony! Only three women make it past the Rose Ceremony, which balances things out again.
The contestants played a “how well do you know your partner” poker game, which reveals that most of them do not, in fact, know each other.
We lost a few amazing contestants at the end of the episode, but many couples still remain to compete!
Let’s get to the best and worst moments of Bachelor in Paradise episode 6!

Best moment: Cash prize
Jesse Palmer descends onto the beach (the arrival of Jesse always signals an exciting moment) and announces that this season, for the first time ever on Bachelor in Paradise, there will be a $500,000 cash prize!
In a season of firsts for Bachelor in Paradise, this is the best one yet!
Though it is a first for Paradise, it is not a first for the franchise. Does anyone remember Bachelor Pad?
Bachelor Pad was one of the best shows ever to grace Bachelor Nation. Contestants from former seasons were rounded up and naturally coupled up, but there were games and a cash prize to lend a new layer to the proceedings. Suddenly, there were new elements of betrayal, greed, valuing money over love, to spice up the semi-monotonous love connections.
Bachelor Pad was canceled after only three seasons, which was a huge mistake. ABC finally seems to have realized that if love is the only thing on the menu and everyone can find a partner (unlike The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, where there is heartbreak aplenty), audiences are bound to get bored.
Another thing about the cash prize: it’s refreshing that we can now be honest that this show isn’t purely “for love.” Most contestants are there at least partially for followers, which equals money, so now it’s just more out in the open.

Worst moment: Brian and Parisa
I just can’t get invested in the relationship between Brian and Parisa (Barisa?). It’s just getting more and more insufferable.
Parisa tries to compliment Brian, showering him in compliments, in fact, and he tells her that the showering could get “smothering,” which will make him annoyed in the future.
This reminded me of their fight last week about Parisa asking Brian his favorite color. How are these things leading to arguments??
Here’s hoping this ends sooner rather than later!
