We're halfway through July, and the major streaming services are beginning to unveil their lineups of what's coming to their platforms next month. One of those streamers is Netflix, and based on its August lineup, fans of one of CBS’s most popular dramas have reason to celebrate. Another gripping season of Fire Country is reportedly set to be released on Netflix in August.
We've learned this good news from What's on Netflix. According to the news outlet, Fire Country season 2 will be available on Netflix starting Friday, Aug. 1, 2025. That means you can expect all 10 episodes to drop on this date. Due to the 2023 writers' and actors' strikes, the second season had a decreased episode count compared to season 1, which had a total of 22 episodes. However, that didn't stop the show from delivering another great installment.

Season 1 was added to Netflix back in August 2024, with the exact date being Aug. 1. That said, it looks like the streamer is continuing that pattern by dropping season 2 on the very same date in 2025. There's no news yet on whether the streaming giant will eventually acquire Fire Country season 3, but given Netflix's existing licensing track record, there's a good chance it could land on the platform in the future. Of course, we'll be keeping a close eye on any updates and will let you know if this ever happens.
Given that Netflix is currently licensing Fire Country, it will eventually have to depart the platform. There's no removal date just yet, but What's on Netflix reports that the streaming rights are expected to remain in place at least through August 2027. So fans can enjoy the series on Netflix for a good while longer before any changes occur.
Fire Country is an action drama series created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater. Thieriot stars in the leading role as Bode Donovan, a young convict striving for redemption who volunteers for a firefighting program that teams prisoners with skilled firefighters to combat wildfires in Northern California. He's joined in the cast by other amazingly talented actors, including Kevin Alejandro, Jordan Calloway, Stephanie Arcila, Jules Latimer, Diane Farr, and Billy Burke.
In February 2025, CBS renewed Fire Country for a fourth season. It has been set for a premiere on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at 8/7c. Like with season 3, there's also a possibility that the fourth season could eventually make its way to Netflix. However, it will have to finish airing first, and the streaming giant would have to acquire the streaming rights. For now, fans will have to just look forward to watching it on CBS this fall.
