Janine Teagues will question herself during Abbott Elementary season 5
In September 2025, TVLine published its preview of the fall television season. Since Abbott Elementary is one of the most popular television shows, the outlet unsurprisingly revealed details about the sitcom's upcoming 5th season. While speaking to the show's executive producer, Patrick Schumacker, for the preview, TVLine was told that Abbott Elementary's Janine Teagues will question herself during season 5.

There are many phrases that people throw around that sound true, but aren't that valuable upon further inspection. On the other hand, some common phrases perfectly express important ideas in a concise way. The phrase, "comparison is the thief of joy," is a perfect example of the latter group. Based on what Abbott Elementary's executive producer said about what Janine will go through during the upcoming season, that is a phrase that her character could learn from. Still, keeping that in mind is easier said than done.
On the bright side, the same TVLine preview states that Janine and Gregory Eddie's relationship will bring her joy during season 5. On top of that, the outlet revealed that Ava Coleman will also find romance during the upcoming season with Matthew Law set to return as O'Shon in season 5. Thankfully, another Abbott Elementary executive producer, Justin Halpern, assured fans that Ava will remain true to her character.
