The summer months are always hard, as the main networks bring their regular shows to an end. We’ve had finales for shows like Chicago PD, Ghosts, and much more, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to watch on TV at all. In fact, the summer months bring other exciting TV shows to check out.

Of course, there is a lot to watch throughout the week, and it can get overwhelming. If you just need a few shows to help feel like you’re not left void of entertainment during the summer, we have you covered. We also have a list of shows that you’ll get away with skipping over, mainly because they’re reruns or you can check them out on streaming platforms.

Here are the five shows you will want to watch on the broadcast networks between May 26 and June 1, along with the three to skip.

What to watch: LEGO Masters

The fourth season of LEGO Masters has just begun, and this is not something you’ll want to skip over. It’s a fun reality competition that will give you some new ideas for your own LEGO builds in the house. The only issue with this is that you’ll want a big bank balance to make sure you can buy all the LEGO in the world!

During the Monday, May 26 episode, the contestants will need to build wedding cakes out of their LEGO sets. They’ll also have the minifigure couples that they’ll be basing their wedding cakes on. After all, everyone has their own personality when it comes to wedding styles.

LEGO Masters airs on Mondays at 8/7c on FOX.

What to watch: Destination X

Need another reality show to get into? NBC has you covered with a new one called Destination X. Jeffrey Dean Morgan hosts the series, which sees the contestants have to figure out where they are. That’s right; they have no idea which location in the world they are in, but they’ll get clues to figure it out.

The fun part of this is that they’ll jet off to new countries in Europe each week. At the end of each episode, a contestant is eliminated, while the others continue the journey to win the top prize. They will need to use their own puzzle skills, history and geography knowledge, pop culture, and much more to figure out their location — and we can work with them.

Destination X airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Blue Bayou
“Blue Bayou” – As Leroy Jethro Gibbs prepares for his first Christmas without his wife and daughter, flashbacks reveal the unlikely journey that led to his first day on the job as a special agent at NIS’ Camp Pendleton office working with Mike Franks and Lala, on NCIS: ORIGINS, Monday, Dec. 16 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day

What to skip: NCIS: Origins

CBS doesn’t have much of a summer schedule just yet, and it’s focusing on a lot of reruns. That will mean that there are plenty of shows to skip, and one of them is NCIS: Origins. It will air on Monday at 10/9c this week.

Of course, that doesn’t mean you don’t need to watch at all. If you love it, or you need to get caught up, the episodes are on Paramount+ right now. However, there’s no point using up an hour of live broadcast time for something that is on a streaming platform.

What to watch: Alert: Missing Persons Unit

There are still a few scripted dramas on at the moment, and they are on the bubble. One of those is Alert: Missing Persons Unit. It’s all about the season 3 finale tonight, so you definitely do not want to skip over it.

Jason will go to prom in the episode, and that’s all because there’s a hijacking threat at the event. This is sure to bring up some memories for Jason, considering he likely knew Nikki back in high school with how young they probably were when they got married and had Keith. I’m sure we’ll want to get the tissues as well as the popcorn.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit airs on Tuesday at 9/8c on FOX.

No, No Monsters
“No, No Monsters” – YouThree help Olympia defend a defamed nanny at her children’s school. Also, Matty is on a stressful hunt for an important document on the Wellbrexa case, on MATLOCK, Thursday, Dec. 12 (9:01-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Pictured (L-R): Kathy Bates as “Madeline Matlock” and Skye P.

What to skip: Matlock

Again, it’s all about reruns on CBS, so Thursday night, there are a few shows that you’ll get away with skipping. In fact, all of the Thursday night shows on CBS are reruns, and they are all available on Paramount+. However, it’s Matlock that is worth bringing up, because this was the breakout show for CBS this season.

Matlock is renewed for a second season, and there are a lot of questions to answer. It’s worth getting a refresher on the series throughout the summer because there were a lot of twists and turns, so tune into Paramount+ for all episodes instead of using up an hour of live TV.

What to watch: Sherlock & Daughter

If you need a period crime drama, then The CW still has your back with Sherlock & Daughter. This episode promises something big for Sherlock fans, as Sherlock heads to visit his oldest enemy. Professor Moriarty is sure to be a big part of the episode, especially as a young Australian man is getting rather close to Amelia.

As for Amelia, she is finding herself surrounded by villains. I love how her skills have developed over the course of the last five episodes, but has she learned enough to deal with whoever this mysterious Australian is?

Sherlock & Daughter airs on Wednesday at 9/8c on The CW.

Transplant - Season 4

What to watch: Transplant

Medical drama fans have the Canadian series Transplant to watch. This week will only have one episode airing after the exciting two-hour premiere last week. The Emergency Department is about to become the home of a man with a superhero ideation complex, and it’s going to be up to the doctors to figure out how to help him.

Meanwhile, Mags and Bash end up with a friendly competition between them. Joseph Kay promised more tension between the two of them, and here it is. We’re certainly getting ready to see how this story comes to an end.

Transplant airs on Thursday at 8/7c on NBC.

What to skip: Inside Out

Sunday night is back to being movie night, especially on ABC, where we get Disney movies each night. The good news is that you can skip the showing of Inside Out on ABC on Sunday, because you can watch this movie on Disney+. In fact, it’s best to watch it on the streaming platform, because then you won’t need to sit through the ad breaks!

Inside Out is a great movie for the whole family, though. The creativity is in how the emotions are shown, and there’s no way that you don’t imagine them in your head now. After this, check out Inside Out 2 on Disney+ as well and make it a full movie night with the kids.
