The television shows airing at the moment are cool and all, but we're ready to welcome back some of ABC's biggest heavy-hitters this fall. The network recently unveiled its fall 2025 primetime schedule, and there are a good number of familiar favorites making their return to the small screen. What's on TV right now just isn't competing with the powerhouse lineup ABC has in store. We're just being honest!
From long-running dramas to breakout hits, the network's upcoming slate is packed with the kind of buzzworthy television that keeps audiences tuning in week after week. But not every beloved show is returning for the new season. While four hit ABC series are making a strong comeback this fall, there's one fan favorite that won't be returning. Below, we shared the names of all five shows. That way, you can get a clear picture of what to expect.

Grey's Anatomy
Still shaken from that intense Grey's Anatomy season 21 finale? Same here. We're eagerly awaiting our return to Grey Sloan Memorial to find out who survived the hospital fire. Series showrunner Meg Marinis has revealed the fates for two doctors already, but what about the rest of the staff? We'll find out when Grey's Anatomy season 22 premieres on ABC in the fall. New episodes will air on Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/9:00 p.m. CT. However, we're still waiting on an official premiere date.
Grey's Anatomy follows the lives of a group of doctors working at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital as they tackle challenging medical cases while dealing with their own personal struggles, complicated relationships, and the emotional demands of working in a fast-paced medical environment.

911
Like Grey's Anatomy season 21, 911's latest season had some shocking surprises we didn't see coming. We're still reeling from Bobby's death and will probably be feeling the impact for a long time. In the fall, 911 will return with its ninth season on ABC, continuing to air new episodes on Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT. We'll get back to you with the premiere date as soon as it's announced.
911 revolves around the lives of first responders in Los Angeles as they race against the clock to save people in dangerous and unpredictable situations, all while managing their own personal struggles and relationships.

High Potential
High Potential is one of ABC's newest shows, and boy, did it make an impression on audiences. The crime drama was renewed for a second season before the first season had even finished airing, which showed just how much confidence the network has in its potential. It is set to return with its second season on ABC in the fall, with new episodes airing on Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/9:00 p.m. CT.
A lot of fans felt that the 13 episodes in High Potential’s first season were too few. Fortunately, the second season is expected to have more episodes. In fact, one of the show's stars, Javicia Leslie, revealed that season 2 will feature 18 episodes. This will give the writers more room to develop the storylines and dive deeper into the characters fans have come to love.
High Potential centers on Morgan Gillory, a cleaning lady for the LAPD who, because of her sharp mind and exceptional intelligence, is recruited to assist the police with solving complex crimes.

Abbott Elementary
Abbott Elementary is the one ABC show that you’ll keep coming back to because it’s equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, shining a light on the real-life struggles and joys of teaching. Audiences love this workplace comedy, and it doesn't look like it'll be going anywhere anytime soon. The fifth season is slated to air on ABC in the fall on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT.
Abbott Elementary focuses in on the everyday lives of the dedicated teachers working at an underfunded public school, highlighting their struggles, triumphs, and the genuine bonds they form with each other and their students. If you haven't started this series yet, you're definitely missing out on a show that'll have you constantly laughing.

The Conners
The only ABC show on this list that won’t be returning this fall is The Conners. It’s not due to cancellation, but because the series was already given a proper send-off with a shortened seventh season that tied up its storylines. The final episode of The Conners aired on ABC back in April, marking the end of the show. While this is sad news, fans can take comfort in knowing the series received a satisfying conclusion.
Serving as a spinoff of Roseanne, The Conners revolves around the Conner family as they navigate life’s ups and downs together while living in Lanford, Illinois.
