FOX may not have made the noise that CBS and NBC did in the lead up to Upfront presentations, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. While the other networks place an emphasis on cancelations and a decidedly less expensive approach to scripted television, FOX decided to issue renewals for most of its original programming.
Several of your favorite FOX titles will be returning in the fall, and while most were saved, there were a couple that failed to secure additional seasons, and have been canceled outright. Here's the rundown on what you can expect from the network this coming call.
Renewed: The Floor

The Floor is a smash for FOX. The unscripted quiz show pits contestants with different areas of expertise against each other in an effort to claim the titular floor. The third and most recent season followed the Super Bowl on the network, and wound up becoming FOX's highest-rated unscripted show of the last two years.
FOX is so eager to keep The Floor going that it was renewed for two additional seasons. In a TV landscape in which foundational franchises like Law & Order are subject to single season pick ups, that says a lot. It helps, of course, that host Rob Lowe has a first look deal with FOX. A win for both parties, we'd say.
Canceled: 9-1-1: Lone Star

FOX made the unexpected decision of dropping 9-1-1 while holding on to its spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, in 2023. It was a vote of confidence for the latter, but Lone Star's luck ran out, and the show was canceled ahead of its fifth season, which concluded in February.
Lone Star's fans and cast members at least had the benefit of knowing they only had one season left, so there was plenty of time to lament the show and relish the finale. Plus, with 9-1-1 still airing on ABC and a Nashville spinoff set for the fall, there's a chance we could see some of the Lone Star standouts pop up for cameos. Familiar FOX face Rob Lowe is down, per his interview with Us Weekly.
Returning: Hell's Kitchen

If we were to identity a celebrity with even more pull at NBC than Rob Lowe, we'd point at Gordon Ramsay. The chef has secured renewals for Hell's Kitchen and Next Level Chef, proving that he still has a stranglehold on reality cooking TV. Hell's Kitchen will be returning for its 24th season on FOX during the fall.
Next Level Chef, meanwhile, was picked up for its 5th and 6th seasons. The cooking competition has proven so popular with FOX viewers, in fact, that a spinoff special, titled Next Level Baker. The spinoff will air in multiple parts starting November 1.
Canned: Rescue HI-Surf

Rescue HI-Surf had a lot going for it ahead of its premiere. The procedural drama had a fun setting (North Shore of O'ahu) and a consistently engaging premise (life guards brave life-threatening swells and conditions to rescue victims). Unfortunately, it will not be coming back for a second season in the fall.
Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network and Fox Entertainment, told news outlets that the show had the full backing of the network (who picked it up from HBO), but that it simply did not live up to expectations. "It just didn’t quite grab the audience," he remarked. Unsurprising, given its underwhelming first season numbers, but a disappointing confirmation nonetheless.
Extended: The Simpsons

Yes, The Simpsons is still on. The legendary animated series has been renewed for four additional seasons by FOX, which will take it into the 2028-29 season. It has been renewed in conjunction with other popular animated titles like Bob's Burgers, Family Guy and American Dad, with the latter having been reacquired after spending the last decade on TBS.
American Dad will not be airing new episodes on FOX until 2026, however, whereas The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers will be part of the network's fall lineup. These shows will be holding down the 8PM and 9:30 PM time slots on Sunday night, respectively.
