PlayStation’s 30th Anniversary: Limited Edition PS5 and PS5 Pro Consoles Revealed

PlayStation is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. To do so, they are releasing a limited edition lineup of consoles and accessories that pay tribute to its early days and ongoing legacy. It launches on November 21st and features exclusive designs for the PS5 and PS5 Pro. Let’s take a look at what you can expect from these unique consoles.
Limited edition PS5 Pro and PS5 Digital bundles
Sony is offering two main console bundles as part of its 30th-anniversary celebration: the PS5 Pro and the PS5 Digital Edition. Each bundle includes retro-themed accessories designed to evoke memories of the iconic PS1, which is what made the rest possible.
PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle
The PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle features a 2TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7 (in select regions), and a sleek new design inspired by the original PlayStation, a DualSense Edge controller, a DualSense wireless controller, and collector’s items like a retro-style PlayStation controller cable connector, PlayStation-themed cable ties, stickers, a limited edition poster, and a PlayStation paperclip.
There is also a charging station and console cover for the disc drive sold separately, and there are only 12,300 units available, so you will need to move quickly if you want one.
PS5 Digital Edition Bundle
The PS5 Digital Edition Bundle also features an attractive design and a 1TB SSD. It also includes similar accessories to the Pro edition, minus the disc drive. It also features a vertical stand.
Retro-themed accessories and packaging
Sony has not only focused on the consoles but also crafted retro-styled accessories that sell separately, including a limited edition DualSense Edge wireless controller, a DualSense wireless controller, and the PlayStation Portal Remote Player. These accessories are available for preorder starting September 26th, 2024, in select regions, with wider availability expected by October.
Will the PlayStation 30th Anniversary consoles be more expensive than the regular versions?
Sony has yet to announce pricing officially, but the limited edition nature makes it likely they will be more expensive than the standard versions.

Sony has teased additional activities and celebrations throughout the year on their 30th-anniversary webpage but has not yet revealed any details beyond the consoles and accessories.
