Get the same MLB game notes used by press, broadcasters

Have you ever wondered why TV and radio broadcasters seem to always have incredibly detailed stats on the tip of their tongues? One reason is that they are supplied with extensive game notes every day, filled with this sort of information. These are now available online for fans to enjoy as well.

The MLB game notes put out by each team, each day feature extensive stats, news, and other information. The PDF documents are 6 pages long with dense text on each page. If there’s something going on with the team or a player on it, the game notes will have that information.

Where else would you find out that Chicago White Sox long reliever Daniel Webb ranks 8th in MLB in opponent double plays or that he has posted a 1.29 ERA over his last 7 road appearances? Or that Colorado Rockies backup catcher Michael McKenry has homered in consecutive games three different times in his brief career?

This stuff isn’t for the ultra-casual fan, but if you’re a big-time fan and you need more info to feed your baseball habit, this might be just the thing for you. Likewise, if you haven’t kept up on the happenings of your preferred team, this makes for a perfect refresher.

You can find the archive for each team on MLB.com’s Press Pass page.
